Issue: Your gas grill flame is cold and low.

Resolution: Initially make sure that there is no visible dirt near the burner then start your gas grill and look for areas where there is little to no flame. In these areas with low flame the burner is most likely blocked- power down the grill, make sure it cools down and clean the base of the burner and discard the remains.
If this proves unsuccessful, look to see if the venturi tubes are congested.
Ensure that all the tubes and valves of your gas grill are properly linked and functioning. It is possible that the fuel regulator is retarding the gas flow so attempt disconnecting and reconnecting it.
Issue: The flame in your gas grill is too cold. It burns orange or yellow when it should be burning blue with yellow tips.
Reason: It could be the same as the aforementioned problem.
Resolution: If those solutions do not work you most likely need to play around with the venturi shutters. Set your gas grill to the lowest setting then turn the adjustment screw until the flame turns blue. The shutters are now loosened. To avoid further issues power down the grill and retighten the screw.
Issue: Your gas grill lets off too much smoke
Reason: Too much grease in the grill
Resolution: Clean the grill extensively and then turn the burner on high to further discard waste
Issue: Flame appears at the base of your gas grill
Reason: Venturi tubes are damaged
Resolution: make sure the grill is not hot then search the venturi tubes for potential damages and then substitute them.
